I can’t believe I haven’t posted this a long time ago!

Have you heard of Freerice? Chances are you may not have but there’s a good chance that you may have. Well, it seems to be getting more popular anyway. FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Programme according to the about page. But it isn’t just that…

Freerice is like a game.  A game that will help improve your common knowledge of vocabulary whilst at the same time, helping people around the world. For each answer you get right, Freerice donates 10 grains of rice through the World food programme to help end hunger, hence the name, “free-rice”.

So what can you do? Well, you can simply  go onto the site and start right away. Or, you could sign up for free and interact with other people. Or you can join and create groups. And yes… you guessed it… I have created a group.

The group is basically a way of connecting people with some sort of connection (in this case, this blog) and everyone puts an effort in and everyone’s totals get added up. As far as  I know, there are no prizes or anything but it really is a lot of fun and it gives you a good feeling knowing you have helped people around the world who are hungry.

So, get onto Freerice and do your bit!

P.S, Just in case you were wondering my last post (about me leaving but was actually an April fools joke) was’s 100th post. That is all.

Thank you so much for sharing us. We’ve managed to raise enough to feed over 5 million people so far, just through word-of-mouth as Freerice does not have a marketing budget. For this this reason, we greatly appreciate you sharing us. Thanks!
